Trout powers Angels to win

Los Angeles secured a 6-2 victory Wednesday night at Texas to improve to 44-43 overall and 22-22 on the road. Mike Trout had a big night at the plate as he finished 2-for-5 with two home runs and four RBIs. Dusty Garneau ended the contest 2-for-4 with a run scored. Shohei Ohtani finished 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run. Kole Calhoun was 3-for-5 with a run and an RBI. Jaime Barria picked up the win on the mound as he gave up two earned runs on five hits with eight strikeouts and two walks over five innings. Griffin Canning starts tonight for the Angels as he enters with a 3-4 record, 3.79 ERA and 0.99 WHIP with 63 strikeouts over 61 2/3 innings.

Federowicz homers in loss

Texas fell by a score of 6-2 at home Wednesday night versus Los Angeles to drop to 46-40 overall and 28-17 at home. Tim Federowicz paced the Rangers offensively as he ended the game 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double and two runs scored. Asdrubal Cabrera went 1-for-3 plus a walk. Shin-Soo Choo finished the game 1-for-4. Ariel Jurado took the loss as he surrendered six earned runs on seven hits over six innings, striking out seven and walking one. Lance Lynn draws the start today as he enters with a 10-4 record, 4.00 ERA and 1.21 WHIP with 118 strikeouts over 108 innings.

MLB Betting Trends

Los Angeles

The Angels are 5-2 in their last seven games versus a right-handed starter. Los Angeles is 4-0 in the last four meetings.

The Rangers are 5-1 in their last six games versus a right-handed starter. Texas is 7-1 in the last eight Lynn home starts.

Lynn has provided a huge boost to the Texas rotation this season and I think he finds success today against an Angels lineup that has to be fatigued after a difficult week. The Rangers are typically really good at home and I expect them to get back to the right side of the coin today.
