Astros keep win streak going
The Houston Astros have a four-game winning streak going right now following a 9-8 win at Colorado on Tuesday night. Houston is 54-32 overall, 23-19 on the road and 45-37 with the under. The Astros have Wade Miley getting the start tonight. He is 6-4 on the season with a 3.39 ERA.
The Astros trailed 8-5 in Tuesday’s game, but put up four runs in the seventh to rally for the victory. Jose Altuve and Alex Bregman each doubled in a run in the seventh and Yulli Gurriel had a two-run home run. Gurriel finished the game with two home runs and drove in four in the win. On the mound, Jose Urquidy made his MLB debut and lasted just 3.2 innings, allowing two runs on six hits. Will Harris got the win in relief, his third of the year, while Roberto Osuna recorded his 18th save of the year.
Rockies edged at home
The Rockies were edged on Tuesday night, 9-8, to suffer their second consecutive loss at home. Colorado is now 44-41 on the season, 24-18 at home and 45-36 with the over. The Rockies have Peter Lambert taking the mound today. He is 2-0 on the season with a 6.57 ERA.
German Marquez threw six innings in his start on Tuesday, allowing five runs with seven strikeouts. Yet, it was still the Colorado pen that had to blow the game. Jake McGee took the loss by allowing the final run of the game in the seventh. At the plate, Colorado had 14 hits. Ian Desmond, Ryan McMahon and David Dahl each had three hits in the loss. Desmond had two RBI while Nolan Arenado also drove in two runs.
MLB Betting Trends
Houston
The Astros are 6-2 in their last eight interleague games against a team with a winning record and 44-18 in their last 62 games against NL West opponents.
Colorado
The Rockies are 9-2 in their last 11 interleague home games and 7-3 in their last 10 games following a loss.
Prediction:
The Astros are healing up and proving they can win with pitching or hitting. Their hitters came through last night with a rookie on the mound and now they have a seasoned vet on the hill today. Miley has struggled on the road this year, but his numbers are still better than what Lambert has done. Lambert has allowed 16 runs over his last 12.2 innings. I think that is going to be a problem against this stronger Houston lineup.
MLB Prediction: Houston Astros -140
