Astros’ Keuchel fires six scoreless innings vs. Royals
Dallas Keuchel fired six scoreless innings as part of a no-decision against the Royals on Friday. The southpaw fanned six and walked a pair before exiting after 98 pitches. Keuchel now hasn’t allowed an earned run in back-to-back starts. This, after giving up 12 runs over 11 innings in his previous two starts. Keuchel will carry a 3.90 ERA into a start against the Blue Jays next week
Rangers’ Bibens-Dirkx pitches five scoreless innings vs. Padres
Austin Bibens-Dirkx worked around four walks to pitch five scoreless innings Tuesday against the Padres. Bibens-Dirkx struck out six and walked just two before being lifted to begin the sixth. He’s pitched well in both of his starts for Texas, so it’s safe to pencil him into the rotation for the foreseeable future. He’s still a rather weak bet in AL-only leagues for the long haul
