Matt Olson went 3-for-3 with a pair of homers and five RBI to power the Athletics to a 7-2 win over the Angels on Friday. Olson drilled a two-run homer to right-center field off Angels opener Noe Ramirez in the first inning and followed it up with a three-run tater down the right-field line off reliever Felix Pena in the third. It was his first multi-homer performance of the season. The 25-year-old slugger has been on a tear at the plate recently, launching five homers in his last seven games. He owns a .254/.345/.575 triple-slash line with 28 runs scored, 16 homers and 32 RBI in 206 plate appearances this season.

Shohei Ohtani went 3-for-4 with a run scored in the Angels’ loss to the Athletics on Friday. Ohtani singled twice and recorded the lone extra-base hit of the contest for the Angels with a leadoff double in the eighth inning. The 24-year-old designated hitter has been excellent at the plate in recent weeks, hitting .349 (30-for-86) with 17 runs scored, seven homers, 20 RBI and four stolen bases in 25 games this month.
