Yankees’ Cessa to make spot start in Philadelphia on Wednesday
Luis Cessa will start for the Yankees on Wednesday in Philadelphia. It’s just a spot start that will allow the Yanks to hold CC Sabathia back for next weekend’s series against the Red Sox. Cessa just recently returned from an oblique injury and won’t be very stretched out.
Phillies’ Eflin allows two home runs in lopsided win
Zach Eflin yielded two runs over five innings in a 12-2 win over the Nationals on Friday. Eflin gave up an RBI double to Michael Taylor and a sacrifice fly to Wilmer Difo in the second inning, but otherwise he was able to keep the Nationals off the board. He struck out five batters and issued just one walk in the victory. Eflin has had a great June, posting a 2.28 ERA and 22/4 K/BB ratio in 23 2/3 innings while winning all four of his starts.
MLB Betting Trends
New York
The Yankees are 43-16 in their last 59 games overall.
Philadelphia
The Phillies have now dropped four of their last five interleague games.
Prediction:
This is a good spot to back the Phillies. They’re at home, they’re receiving plus odds, they were playing well before the recent three-game losing streak, and are facing a pitcher making a spot start. Plus, they’re 4-0 in Eflin’s last four starts while the Yankees have lost four of Cessa’s last five road outings.
The Pick: Philadelphia Phillies +115
