Reds drop another
Cincinnati lost its third straight game on Tuesday night, suffering a 5-1 loss to the Angels. The Reds are 36-41 on the season, 17-24 on the road and 48-27 with the under. The Reds have Tanner Roark getting the start tonight. He is 5-6 on the year with a 3.47 ERA.
The Reds couldn’t get much going on offense Tuesday night, posting just one run on seven hits. Jose Iglesias led the way with two hits for the Reds while Joey Votto scored the lone run on a solo home run. Tyler Mahle got the start and allowed four earned runs over five innings to take his eighth loss of the year.
Angels get back to .500
Los Angeles has won back-to-back games to get to the .500 mark this season. The Angels are 40-40 on the season, 20-18 at home and 38-36 with the under. Los Angeles has Jaime Barria on the mound today. He has a 2-2 record with a 6.52 ERA.
Andrew Heaney only pitched 5.1 innings, but he got his first win by allowing just one run on five hits with four walks and four strikeouts. The L.A. bullpen gave up just two hits over 3.2 innings. Luis Rengifo had a three-run home run in the victory while Tommy La Stella had his 16th home run of the season.
MLB Betting Trends
Cincinnati
The Reds are 5-2 in their last seven games against a right-handed starter, but 5-15 in their last 20 Wednesday games.
Los Angeles
The Angels are 4-1 in their last five home games and 23-8 in their last 31 interleague home games.
Prediction:
Roark has been pretty good for the Reds this season, but he hasn’t been getting much run support. Barria hasn’t pitched in three weeks and he has struggled to get deep into games. I think he could struggle in his return to the mound while Roark is able to limit what the Angels do at the plate. I went with the Reds on Tuesday and they came up short, but I still feel like this is a good matchup for them tonight.
MLB Prediction: Cincinnati Reds +100
