Latest on both pitchers from Rotoworld:
Nolasco let in five runs across 5 1/3 frames and was charged with a loss to the Yankees on Wednesday. He kept his squad in the game through five innings until the hole got too deep in the sixth. He allowed a two-run homer to Didi Gregorius in the second inning and a solo shot to Matt Holiday in the fifth. He gave up a single and a walk before being relieved in the sixth inning, then an Austin Romine double off reliever Mike Morin plated two more runs charged to Nolasco. He falls to 2-9 with a 5.23 ERA and 1.46 WHIP after 15 starts.
Hill limited the Mets to four hits and one run over five solid innings Wednesday in the Dodgers’ 8-1 victory. It looked like Hill might be in for a rough night after Curtis Granderson took him deep in the game’s first at-bat, but he wouldn’t allow another run after that. Hill walked three while recording a season-high eight strikeouts. While Hill appears to have overcome his blister issues (knock on wood), his high-walk rate has kept him from pitching deep into games. He hasn’t logged more than five innings in any of his nine starts this year.
Bet Tonight’s Angels vs. Dodgers Game
OUR PREDICTION: I wrote Sunday before their come-from-behind victory that I wasn’t going to kick the hornet’s nest when it came to the Dodgers. They’re red-hot, and you might as well ride them until they hit a rough patch. They’re 41-14 in their last 55 games overall, are 45-14 in their last 59 home games, and are 4-1 in HIll’s last five starts. On the other side, the Angels are 0-6 in Nolasco’s last six road starts, are 7-19 in his last 26 outings overall, and are winless in his last six starts coming off four days of rest.
MONDAY MLB PREDICTION: LOS ANGELES DODGERS -1.5 (-120)
