Ke’Bryan Hayes reached base three times, drove in two runs and stole a base Wednesday against the White Sox. Hayes plated a run with a single in the third and another with a single in the seventh. He also added a walk. It’s Hayes’ first multi-hit game since June 6 and the first time he’s reached base three times in a game since June 4. As far as his stolen base goes, it was his first of the season in two attempts and his second in three attempts over 43 career games. Hayes’ speed has certainly been something that’s enhanced his fantasy appeal, so it’s fair to say he’s been a disappointment in that regard.

Nolan Arenado hit a solo home run Wednesday in the Cardinals’ loss to the Tigers. It was another listless performance from the Cards’ offense, but Arenado did sock his 14th homer of the season. It was the only hit in four trips to the plate for the third baseman. Arenado is in the midst of a 4-for-34 drought at the dish over his last nine games, although he’s at least gone deep a couple times during that stretch.
