Orioles end skid
Baltimore had lost 10 straight games coming into Saturday, but managed an 8-4 win over the Mariners. The Orioles are 22-55 on the season, 13-27 on the road and 38-36 with the over. Baltimore has Gabriel Ynoa on the mound today. He is 0-4 on the season with a 5.65 ERA.
The Orioles had a little bit of a hitting outburst on Saturday, as they produced their eight runs on eight hits and seven walks. Jonathan Villar had two hits, including a home run, to lead the team. Villar finished with three RBI and two runs. Hanser Alberto and Anthony Santander each drove in a pair of runs as well. Andrew Cashner picked up his seventh win of the season by throwing six innings and allowing just two earned runs.
Mariners slip up
Seattle had a three-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday in the loss to the Orioles. The Mariners are 34-47 on the season, 20-23 on the road and 55-24 with the over. Seattle has Yusei Kikuchi getting the start this afternoon. He is 3-5 on the season with a 5.15 ERA.
The Mariners stranded seven runners on Saturday as they produced four runs on seven hits. Domingo Santana hit his 17th home run of the season in the loss and he now has 58 RBI on the season. He finished the game with two hits and three runs scored. Daniel Vogelbach also drove in his 44th run of the year. On the mound, Tommy Milone suffered the loss by giving up three runs in five innings with six strikeouts. Three of Seattle’s relievers gave up runs as well.
MLB Betting Trends
Baltimore
The Orioles are 12-48 in their last 60 games after scoring five runs or more in their previous game. They have also lost Ynoa’s last five road starts.
Seattle
The Mariners are 7-1 in their last eight games following a loss, but just 5-11 in their last 16 home games.
Prediction:
The Orioles put up big runs on Saturday and showed they can touch up the Seattle bullpen. They get to face Kikuchi today, who has allowed at least five runs in four of his last five starts. Ynoa is coming off a poor outing in Oakland, but has been able to keep Baltimore in a fair amount of games this year. Seattle lost a big bat last week, so I feel the Mariners are too heavily favored in a game that looks like it could be high-scoring.
MLB Prediction: Baltimore Orioles +155
