Orioles’ Bundy allows four runs over six in win over Marlins
Dylan Bundy gave up four runs over six innings while striking out five in a win over the Marlins on Sunday. Bundy wasn’t great against Miami, but he didn’t have to be with the Orioles giving him plenty of run support. He did pitch well over the first five, but a three-run sixth inning doomed his night statistically. He now has registered an ERA on the year of 3.81, which is much more impressive when you consider he’s not that far removed from a start where he allowed seven runs without getting an out. Bundy is back on the bump on Friday when he faces the Braves in Atlanta.
Braves’ Teheran fires six no-hit innings in victory over Padres
Julio Teheran pitched six no-hit innings while striking out 11 in a 4-1 victory over the Padres on Sunday. Teheran did walk three, and his 95 pitches through six innings made it impossible for him to finish the no-no, especially considering it was his first start off the disabled list. Nevertheless, it’s still a dominating effort from the right-hander, and the Padres were unable to do anything with him while Teheran showed the stuff that made him one of the most intriguing young starters not long ago. The effort lower’s Teheran’s ERA to 3.97 on the season, and he’s now struck out 67 hitters over 77 innings over 14 starts. He’ll look to continue this into his next start, but that has yet to be scheduled. It likely comes at the end of the weekend against the Orioles or next Monday against the Reds.
MLB Betting Trends
Baltimore
The Orioles are just 13-42 in their last 55 road games despite beating the Braves in extra innings last night.
Atlanta
The Braves are 6-2 in their last eight home games and are 24-8 in their last 32 games coming off a loss.
Prediction:
I see value in the Orioles, who actually are starting to play better despite their ugly record. The Braves are just 6-22 in their last 28 interleague home games, are 9-19 in their last 28 games versus American League East opponents, and are 0-6 in their last six interleague games versus a right-handed starter. Meanwhile, the Orioles have won five of Bundy’s last six interleague outings.
The Pick: Baltimore Orioles +110
