Miami Marlins Fantasy Spin
Bryan Holaday slugged a solo homer and drew a walk Friday against the Phillies. Holaday went yard against Aaron Nola in the second inning. It was his second homer since his call-up last month. The 31-year-old is hitting .259/.394/.519 over 34 plate appearances with the Marlins this season, but he’s struggled during his previous chances in the majors and is unlikely to play all that much. He can be ignored in most fantasy leagues.
Philadelphia Phillies Fantasy Spin
Rhys Hoskins reached base four times in Friday’s loss to the Marlins. Hoskins went 3-for-4 with a walk. Two of his hits were doubles, but he was left stranded on both occasions. Still, it was nice to see this sort of night from Hoskins. Coming into Friday, he had just three hits in 22 at-bats over his last seven games.
MLB Betting Trends
Miami
The Marlins are 20-47 in their last 67 road games.
Philadelphia
The Phillies are 1-4 in their last five home games.
Prediction:
The Phillies are 5-1 in Velasquez’s last six starts versus the Marlins and are a perfect 4-0 in his last four home outings against Miami. Despite winning last night, the Marlins are also just 27-57 in their last 84 games versus the Phillies in Philadelphia. The Marlins are also 1-4 in their last five games following a win and 0-7 in Hernandez’s last seven starts overall.
Saturday MLB Prediction: Philadelphia Phillies -1.5
