White Sox win in 10 innings
A sacrifice bunt by Yolmer Sanchez scored Eloy Jimenez in the top of the 10th inning Friday night as Chicago won 5-4 at Texas. Zack Collins helped pace the White Sox offense as he went 1-for-5 with his first career MLB home run and three RBIs. Jimenez finished 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI. Ryan Cordell was 3-for-4 with a double. Kelvin Herrera struck out the only batter he faced in relief to pick up the win. Alex Colome earned the save as he walked one in a scoreless inning. Odrisamer Despaigne draws the start tonight for Chicago as he enters with an 0-2 record, 8.71 ERA and 2.13 WHIP with seven strikeouts over 10 1/3 innings.
Mazara hits 505-foot home run
Texas lost by a count of 5-4 in 10 innings at home versus Chicago Friday night to drop to 40-36 overall and 26-15 at home. Nomar Mozara was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs, the home run measured at 505 feet tying the longest recorded homer during the Statcast era. Shin-Soo Choo ended the game 3-for-4 with a double plus a walk. Rougned Odor finished 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Shawn Kelley took the loss in relief as he gave up one earned run on two hits with two strikeouts and no walks over one inning. Lance Lynn takes the mound tonight as he comes in with an 8-4 record, 4.16 ERA and 1.29 WHIP with 102 strikeouts over 93 innings.
MLB Betting Trends
The White Sox are 4-1 in their last five road games. Chicago is 17-35 in its last 52 Saturday games.
The Rangers are 6-1 in the last seven Lynn home starts. Texas is 4-0 in its last four Saturday games.
Despaigne is an easy fade on the road in a hitter's ballpark for me. Lynn has been mostly sufficient this season and with the run support he is likely to get, he should get into his comfort zone quickly. Go with the Rangers today as they are heavy favorites for good reason.
