Arenado, Story, Desmond star in win

Charlie Blackmon was 2-for-3 with a pair of walks and two runs. Trevor Story and Ian Desmond finished 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs. The trio of home runs were back-to-back-to-back in the third inning. Noel Cuevas was 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run and an RBI. German Marquez helped his own cause by going 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI. Carlos Gonzalez was 2-for-5 iwth a solo home run. Marquez gave up four earned runs over six innings to get the win.
Vargas hit hard in defeat
Jason Vargas allowed seven earned runs on nine hits in only 2 1/3 innings to take the loss as his ERA ballooned to 8.60. Brandon Nimmo led the offense as he was 1-for-4 with a walk, two runs and an RBI. Asdubal Cabrera was 2-for-4 with a walk and two RBIs. Kevin Plawecki went 2-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI.

MLB Betting Trends
New York is 1-7 in its last eight Wednesday games. The Mets are 7-20 in their last 27 games overall.
The Rockies are 3-9 in their last 12 overall. The over is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings.
Lugo has mostly pitched well this season and doesn't allow many home runs, which should serve him well at Coors Field. Bettis has been getting by well with a lot of run support, but with Colorado being so inconsistent I am taking the visitors as slight underdogs here.
