Angels take first two
Los Angeles has won the first two games in this series and they have won six of their last eight games coming into today. The Angels are 37-37 on the season, 18-19 on the road and 35-33 with the under. Andrew Heaney is getting the start for the Angels tonight. He is 0-1 on the season with a 4.57 ERA.
The Angels had six hits on Wednesday, which produced three runs. Kole Calhoun had a solo home run in the win, his 16th of the season while Brian Goodwin also had a solo home run. Tyler Skaggs had a great outing, pitching 7.1 innings while allowing just three hits and one run. He is 6-6 on the season with the victory. Hansel Robles picked up his 11th save of the season by pitching a perfect ninth.
Blue Jays back in a funk
Toronto has lost two straight and four of its last five games coming into tonight. Toronto is 26-47 on the season, 12-24 at home and 36-34 with the under. Aaron Sanchez is getting the start for the Blue Jays tonight. He is 3-8 on the season with a 5.04 ERA.
Marcus Stroman had a good start for the Blue Jays on Tuesday, but didn’t get the help at the plate. He pitched seven innings and allowed three earned runs on four hits to take the loss. He has a 3.23 ERA on the year, but a 4-9 record. At the plate, Toronto was led by Lourdes Gurriel Jr., who had a solo home run.
MLB Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The Angels are just 7-15 in Heaney’s last 22 road starts, but 9-4 in their last 13 road games.
Toronto
The Blue Jays are 5-16 in their last 21 home games and 3-11 in their last 14 games following a loss.
Prediction:
The Jays are a bit of a mess right now and Sanchez is coming off three straight really poor starts. He has given up 17 earned runs over his last 15 innings of work. Heaney hasn’t been outstanding, but he has been largely competitive. His road numbers are actually better than his home numbers as well. This could be a high-scoring game, but I trust the Los Angeles hitting and pitching more than Toronto right now.
MLB Prediction: Los Angeles Angels -160
