Indians bounce back
Cleveland dropped the series opener on Monday, 7-2, but they bounced back on Tuesday with an impressive 10-3 win. The Indians are 38-34 on the season, 18-17 on the road and 41-29 with the under. The Tribe have Adam Plutko on the mound today. He is 3-1 on the season with a 4.63 ERA.
The Indians put up 14 hits in Tuesday’s victory. They finished the game with four home runs. Both Jason Kipnis and Jose Ramirez finished the game with three RBI. Tyler Naquin had two hits and two RBI while Jake Bauers had three hits and scored two runs. Zach Plesac got the win on the mound to improve to 2-2 on the season. He pitched seven innings and allowed just two hits and one run with six strikeouts.
Rangers get lit up
Texas lost for the fourth time in seven game in Wednesday’s loss to the Indians. The Rangers are now 39-34 on the season, 25-13 at home and 37-35 with the over. Texas Joe Palumbo getting the start today. He is 0-0 on the season with a 9.00 ERA.
Adrian Sampson got lit up pretty quickly, allowing five runs over three innings. Drew Smyly then gave up another five runs over 3.1 innings of relief. Nomar Mazara had a pair of hits in the loss. He was the only Ranger with multiple hits. Rougned Odor had a solo home run while Willie Calhoun had a two-run home run.
MLB Betting Trends
Cleveland
The Indians have won five straight games against a left-handed starter and seven of their last 10 against a winning record.
Texas
The Rangers have won their last five home games against a team with a winning road record and seven of their last eight games following a loss.
Prediction:
Palumbo has just one start this year and he allowed four runs in four innings against Oakland. Plutko had one rough outing against the Rays last month, but has allowed just two earned runs or less in three of his last four starts. The Indians have had some questionable hitting throughout the season, but they have been able to do well lately. I think Plutko can pitch well enough to help the Indians and they will be able to hit the ball well against this young pitcher.
MLB Prediction: Cleveland Indians -125
