Seattle drops finale against Red Rox
The Mariners still managed to win two of four home games versus the Boston Red Sox, but had a chance for more as they lost Sunday afternoon's series final by a count of 9-3. Dee Gordon had a strong day at the plate for Seattle from the leadoff spot as he went 3-for-5. Nelson Cruz was 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk. David Freitas finished 2-for-4. Mike Leake took the loss as he allowed five earned runs on eight hits with one strikeout and one walk over six innings.
Yankees split makeup games
New York resumed its May 15 game at the Nationals Monday evening with the score tied at 3-3, but a Juan Soto home run gave the hosts the lead and an eventual 5-3 triumph. But the Yankees responded well in the full game that followed, 4-2. Aaron Hicks went 2-for-5 at the top of the order with a home run, a double, two runs and two RBIs. Giancarlo Stanton finished 4-for-5 with a double and two RBIs. Sonny Gray earned the win as he allowed two earned runs on six hits with seven strikeouts and one walk over five innings. Aroldis Chapman picked up his 21st save, working around a hit and a walk while striking out two.
MLB Betting Trends
The Mariners are 7-1 in their last eight Tuesday games. Seattle is 2-7 in the last nine meetings.
The under is 17-4-1 in the last 22 Yankees games overall. New York is 45-14 in its last 59 home games.
Gonzales and German are a pair of starting pitchers who are growing in confidence with each start. I think German gets through at least six innings today, while Gonzales can take care of some Yankees bats that are fatigued after the longer day yesterday. Roll with the under here.
