Rangers win first two
Texas has won the first two games of the series following the 4-3 win it picked up on Saturday. The Rangers are 38-32 on the season, 14-20 on the road and 35-34 with the under. Texas has Ariel Jurado on the mound today. He is 4-2 on the season with a 3.02 ERA.
The Rangers were able to put up two runs in the first to get off to the right start, and then hang on from there. Jeff Mathis had two hits and drove in a run while Danny Santana also had a pair of hits. Mike Minor got the win on the mound, improving to 6-4 on the season. Minor allowed three runs over 6.1 innings with six strikeouts and four walks. Shawn Kelley got his eighth save with a perfect ninth.
Reds come up short again
Cincinnati struggled at the plate once again on Saturday, putting up just three runs in the loss to Texas. The Reds are 30-38 on the season, 15-17 at home and 43-23 with the under. Cincy has Sonny Gray making the start today. He is 2-5 on the season with a 3.65 ERA.
The Reds had three errors in the loss on Saturday, which led to just two of the four runs for Texas being earned. Tanner Roark took the loss, falling to 4-6 on the year. He gave up the two earned runs over seven innings on eight hits with five strikeouts. At the plate, Yasiel Puig had a two-run home run while Curt Casali had a solo home run.
MLB Betting Trends
Texas
The Rangers have won five of their last six interleague games and five of their last six against NL Central opponents.
Cincinnati
The Reds are just 1-5 in their last six home games and 0-7 in their last seven interleague home games.
Prediction:
Gray hasn’t been too bad, but he is pretty sure to give up about 2-3 runs in the game. That could be all Texas needs, as the Reds are just a mess at the plate right now. Jurado has been similar to the Gray, but the Rangers have won his last three starts. I think Texas has the better hitting and is picking up momentum to finish off the sweep today.
MLB Prediction: Texas Rangers +150
