From Rotoworld: Samardzija gave up three runs in six innings and was charged with a loss to the Twins on Saturday. He gave up just four hits but two of them left the yard. Kennys Vargas swatted a solo shot in the fourth inning and Brian Dozier clubbed a two-run bomb in the fifth. Samardzija struck out six batters and issued one base-on-balls. He falls to 2-8 with a 4.31 ERA on the season.
Senzatela yielded four earned runs over four innings in the Rockies’ loss to the Cubs on Sunday. Senzatela surrendered two singles, an RBI double, and a three-run homer before recording an out in the bottom of the first inning. It’s rather amazing he was able to make it three more innings without allowing another run. The rookie right-hander gave up seven total hits and two walks while striking out six. He’ll carry a 3.84 ERA into his next scheduled outing at home against the Giants.
