Padres drop fifth straight
San Diego lost by a count of 9-6 Thursday night in a series opener at Colorado to drop to 33-36 overall and 15-16 on the road. Wil Myers was 3-for-4 with a double and a run. Matt Strahm took the loss as he allowed six earned runs on seven hits with four strikeouts and four walks over 3 1/3 innings. Cal Quantrill gets the start tonight as he enters with a 1-2 record, 4.85 ERA and 1.35 WHIP with 26 strikeouts over 26 innings.

MLB Betting Trends
San Diego
The Padres are 9-4 in their last 13 Friday games. San Diego is 0-4 in its last four road games.
Colorado
The Rockies are 4-1 in their last five Friday games. Colorado is 53-26 in its last 79 home games.
Prediction:
The Padres have struggled, but they should score enough here as Hoffman has struggled mightily at the MLB level. Even though Quantrill isn’t going to be perfect, I’m going to take a shot that he gives five or six good enough innings before turning it over to the bullpen to finish it off. San Diego isn’t a great team, but it is good enough that losing streaks like this shouldn’t be commonplace.
