Veteran lefty Cole Hamels will start tonight for Texas. He comes in with a 3-6 record and 3.86 ERA, striking out 79 batters in 79 1/3 innings with a WHIP of 1.24. He allowed five earned runs on seven hits with five strikeouts and two walks over 7 1/3 innings in a 5-2 home loss to the Astros. Texas has won three of Hamels’ last five starts. Hamels has pitched into the seventh inning in his last four starts.

Los Angeles starting pitcher Kenta Maeda left his May 29 start at home against Philadelphia after 1 2/3 innings with an injury, giving up two earned runs during that time. He was excellent the previous two starts, throwing a combined 14 2/3 shutout innings while allowing only four hits with 20 strikeouts and four walks in a win at the Marlins and at home against the Rockies. Maeda comes into tonight’s start with a 4-4 record and 3.61 ERA, striking out 68 in 52 1/3 innings with a 1.28 WHIP.
MLB Betting Trends
Texas
The Rangers are 7-3 in their last 10 interleague road games. Texas is 14-6 in its last 20 interleague games.
Los Angeles
The Dodgers are 8-2 in their last 10 games overall. Los Angeles is 18-6 in its last 24 interleague games.
Prediction:
Los Angeles poured on the offense in the series opener last night and I think they tag Hamels for some runs here. Maeda will probably have some rust after missing a couple weeks. I like this game to get to eight runs on the total as last night set the tone for offense coming in bunches this series.
