Indians upset
The Indians suffered just their second loss in seven games on Tuesday in a 5-1 loss to the White Sox. Cleveland is now 35-30 on the season and 15-19 on the road. Cleveland is averaging 4.88 runs per game at the plate this season while allowing 4.38 per contest.
Trevor Bauer takes the mound for the Indians on Wednesday night. He has started 13 games this season and has a 5-4 record with a 2.62 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP. He has pitched a total of 86.0 innings this year and has 109 strikeouts with 29 walks.
White Sox bounce back
Chicago continued its alternating results on Tuesday with the win over Cleveland. The Sox have alternated wins and losses over their last seven games. The White Sox are 23-42 overall and 11-20 at home this season. Chicago is putting up 3.86 runs per game this season while allowing 5.06 per contest.
Dylan Covey is starting for the White Sox tonight. He has started five games this season and has a 2-1 record with a 2.22 ERA and 1.27 WHIP. Covey has pitched a total of 28.1 innings and has 28 strikeouts with 11 walks. He has not allowed an earned run over his last 11 innings.
MLB Betting Trends
Cleveland
The Indians have won four of Bauer’s last five starts and 27 of their last 40 games following a loss.
Chicago
Chicago has won five of Covey’s last six home starts, but they are just 5-16 in their last 21 games following a win.
Prediction:
Covey has looked good on the mound, but the White Sox haven’t been able to string together wins often. It takes a lot to go right for Chicago to get wins and I find it hard to see them all coming together against Bauer tonight. Bauer should keep the Sox to a low total and I don’t know that the Chicago bullpen can carry the Sox once Covey is gone.
The Pick: Cleveland Indians -190
