Marte paces Diamondbacks in defeat

Arizona lost by a score of 7-4 at Philadelphia Tuesday night to drop to 35-33 overall and 21-17 on the road. Ketel Marte had a big night in the loss as he was 3-for-5 with a solo home run. Carson Kelly finished 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and two RBIs. Nick Ahmed went 1-for-3 with a walk plus a run scored. Jon Duplantier took the loss as he surrendered four earned runs on seven hits over four innings, striking one and walking one. Merrill Kelly gets the start today for the Diamondbacks as he enters with a 6-6 record, 4.12 ERA and 1.36 WHIP with 58 strikeouts over 74 1/3 innings.

Kingery lifts Phillies to win

Scott Kingery hit a three-run home run during a four-run bottom of the second inning as host Philadelphia earned a 7-4 victory over Arizona. Kingery ended the contest 1-for-3 with the home run and a walk plus the three RBIs. Rhys Hoskins finished 2-for-3 with a walk, a run and an RBI. J.T. Realmuto was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Jay Bruce finished 2-for-3 with a walk, a run and an RBI. Jake Arrieta picked up the win as he gave up three earned runs on six hits with five strikeouts and four walks over six innings. Hector Neris threw a perfect ninth inning for his 14th save. Zach Eflin gets the start today for the Phillies as he comes in with a 6-5 record, 2.88 ERA and 1.19 WHIP with 57 strikeouts over 72 innings.
