Texas Rangers Fantasy Spin
Danny Santana went 4-for-5 with two doubles, and RBI and a run scored in the Rangers’ win over the Red Sox on Monday in extra innings. Santana was excellent on Monday, and one of the few Texas hitters who was able to get anything done against Chris Sale. His RBI was a single off of Sale in the sixth, and he came around to score the game-winning run on a single by Elvis Andrus in the 11th inning. It’s a relatively small sample size, but the 28-year-old is now hitting .306/.342/.500 with four homers and seven steals over 144 at-bats in 2019. There just might be something here.
Boston Red Sox Fantasy Spin
Darwinzon Hernandez will start for the Red Sox on Tuesday versus the Rangers. It had been looking that way and manager Alex Cora confirmed it after Monday’s game. Hernandez threw 2 1/3 scoreless innings in a relief appearance for the Red Sox earlier this season and holds a 5.13 ERA and 59/32 K/BB ratio over 40 1/3 frames this season at Double-A Portland. He’s not a good streaming option.
MLB Betting Trends
Texas
The Rangers are 8-3 in their last 11 games overall but they’re just 17-36 in their last 53 road games.
Boston
The Red Sox have dropped four of their last five games overall and are 1-6 in their last seven contests at home.
Prediction:
The pitching matchup and ballpark plays to the over but the under has been the more profitable bet when these two teams get together. The under is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two clubs and has cashed in four of the previous five meetings at Fenway Park. The under is also 4-1 in the Red Sox’ last five games overall, as this Boston offense remains depleted due to injuries. Finally, the under is 4-1 in Jurado’s last five starts and is 9-3 in the Rangers’ last 12 games overall.
Tuesday MLB Prediction: Rangers/Red Sox under 10.5
