Will Smith blew a save Wednesday in Philadelphia when he served up a two-out, two-run, walk-off homer to Luke Williams. On to protect a one-run lead, Smith issued a one-out walk to Andrew McCutchen before getting pinch-hitter Brad Miller to pop out. Then up came Williams, who put one in the seats for his first major league home run. It’s a little hard to believe that it’s Smith’s first blown save of the season considering he had a 4.13 ERA coming into the game, but he had been 11-for-11 prior to this. The lefty’s job should be safe.

Didi Gregorius (elbow) will begin a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Wednesday. Gregorius has been sidelined since the middle of May with a right elbow impingement, so he’ll need at least a few games at Triple-A in order to get his timing back. Barring any setbacks, he could be looking at a return to the Phillies lineup early next week. Prior to landing on the injured list, the 31-year-old shortstop was hitting .229/.266/.364 with four homers, 22 RBI and a 26/5 K/BB ratio through 32 games.
