Pirates vs. Cubs Sunday Prediction
The first two games of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago Cubs series at Wrigley Field were low-scoring. Will under bettors cash in again when the National League Central rivals wrap things up on Sunday?

Pirates’ Nova to come off disabled list to face Cubs
Ivan Nova (finger) will be activated from the 10-day disabled list and start Sunday’s game against the Cubs, manager Clint Hurdle said Saturday. A corresponding move will be made before tomorrow’s game. Nova has been sidelined since May 25 with a sprained right ring finger, and he’s been throwing bullpen sessions and simulated games as he worked toward a return. It’s been a disappointing year for the 31-year-old, who owns a 4.96 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, and 47/10 K/BB ratio in 61 2/3 innings this season, and a date with the potent Cubs’ lineup isn’t a recipe for success.
Cubs’ Hendricks allows five runs in loss to Phillies
Kyle Hendricks yielded five runs in five innings Tuesday in a loss to the Phillies. It’s the first time this year that he’s allowed more than four runs, and he had given up four earned runs only once. Hendricks isn’t the sexiest of starters, but the ERA will be good, the WHIP will be great and the wins should come. That he’s just 4-5 now is largely because the Cubs have struggled to score for him. They’ve scored exactly one run in six of his 12 starts.
MLB Betting Trends
Pittsburgh
The Pirates are 3-1 in Nova’s last five starts against the Cubs but are 2-6 in their last eight games played at Wrigley Field and are 1-4 in their last five games versus the Cubs overall.
Chicago
The Cubs are 1-4 in Hendricks’ last five starts versus the Pirates.
Prediction:
I believe these two teams will hit the trifecta for unders with another low-scoring game on Sunday. The under is 5-1 in the last six meetings between these two teams and is 5-0 in Hendricks’ last five starts versus the Pirates. The under is also 20-8 in Hendricks’ last 28 starts, is 35-16-1 in his last 52 home outings, and has cashed in six of the Pirates’ last eight games overall.
The Pick: Pirates/Cubs under
