St. Louis Cardinals Fantasy Spin
Paul DeJong ripped a solo home run for the Cardinals’ only run in Friday’s loss to the Cubs. DeJong hit a towering shot to left field into the teeth of the wind at Wrigley Field and the ball landed in the basket. It’s his second long ball in as many days, which is very encouraging since he had been in a deep slump prior to that.
Chicago Cubs Fantasy Spin
Javier Baez slugged a two-run homer Friday versus the Cardinals. Miles Mikolas made an 0-2 mistake to Baez with two out and a runner on in the first inning and the infielder ripped it to the opposite field and into the Wrigley Field bleachers. Baez has now gone deep three times and collected eight hits over his last five games, as he appears to be over his heel issue and back into a groove at the dish.
MLB Betting Trends
St. Louis
The Cardinals have lost seven of Flaherty’s last nine road starts.
Chicago
The Cubs are 35-17 in Lester’s last 52 starts.
Prediction:
The Cardinals offense is horrendous and has been horrendous for over a week now. They haven’t scored more than three runs in four straight games and continue to get their ass kicked in Chicago, where they are now 7-19 in their last 26 games played at Wrigley Field. The Cubs are 5-1 in Lester’s last six home starts versus the Cardinals and are 5-2 in his last seven outings versus St. Louis overall.
The Pick: Chicago Cubs -105
