M's fall in 14 innings

Seattle lost 8-7 in 14 innings Thursday at home to complete a series against Houston. The Mariners fought back with three runs in the seventh inning followed by a run in each the eighth and ninth innings, while they also trailed 7-6 in the 10th inning before evening it again. Omar Narvaez helped pace the Seattle offense as he went 2-for-6 with a solo homer plus a walk. Edwin Encarnacion finished 2-for-5 with a double, two walks, two runs and an RBI. Dan Vogelbach went 2-for-5 with two walks, a run and an RBI. Matt Festa took the loss in relief as he allowed one earned run on one hit with two strikeouts and one walk over one inning. Marco Gonzales will start tonight for Seattle as he enters with a 5-4 record, 4.89 ERA and 1.44 WHIP with 54 strikeouts over 77 1/3 innings.

Angels lose at home

Los Angeles dropped a 7-4 decision at home Thursday versus Oakland to fall to 30-33 overall and 16-16 at home. Mike Trout helped pace the Angels as he went 1-for-4 with a home run, a walk and two RBIs. Tommy La Stella was 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI. Kole Calhoun finished the contest 2-for-4. Tyler Skaggs suffered the loss as he allowed six runs (five earned) on six hits with four strikeouts and four walks over four innings. Andrew Heaney starts for LA tonight as he comes in with an 0-0 record, 4.09 ERA and 0.73 WHIP with 18 strikeouts over 11 innings.

MLB Betting Trends

The Mariners are 1-4 in their last five Friday games. Seattle is 4-17 in its last 21 road games.

Los Angeles

The Angels are 8-2 in the last 10 Heaney home starts. Los Angeles is 4-1 in the last five meetings.

The Angels torched Gonzales last week in Seattle and although it might not be as ugly tonight, it's hard to see him having a really good outing. Heaney has been sharp since returning from injury and has a high strikeout rate. With the Mariners in freefall mode, I'm all in on LA tonight.
