Houston Astros Fantasy Spin
Alex Bregman went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI against the Mariners on Tuesday. Rafael Devers was given the award, but Alex Bregman should have been the AL Player of the Month for May; while the two had similar offensive numbers, Bregman is clearly superior defensively and also plays in a tougher environment for scoring runs. Bregman, who hit 12 homers last month, has 29 RBI in 32 games since the beginning of May and 43 overall.
Seattle Mariners Fantasy Spin
Mitch Haniger homered and walked twice versus the Astros on Tuesday. With 15 homers, 46 runs scored and four steals, Haniger has been a pretty good fantasy outfielder. The Mariners, though, were hoping for more than a .230ish average and an OBP around .320. He’ll get hot again at some point, but he’s had a tough time stringing much of anything together since mid-April.
MLB Betting Trends
Houston
The Astros are 10-1 in Brad Peacock’s last 11 starts following a Quality Start in his last appearance.
Seattle
The Mariners are 5-21 in their last 26 games versus a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15.
Prediction:
The Astros are a perfect 5-0 in their last five games versus the Mariners and have won 39 of their last 56 games played in Seattle. The Astros have also won four of Peacock’s last five road starts and are 21-7 in his last 28 outings overall. On the other side, the Mariners are 2-7 in Mike Leake’s last nine starts and are 3-13 in their last 16 games versus the rest of the American League West.
Tuesday MLB Prediction: Houston Astros -1.5 (+100)
