Severino hits three HRs
Pedro Severino hit three home runs Tuesday night and made a saving play behind the plate as Baltimore won 12-11 at Texas, holding on after giving up six runs in the bottom of the ninth inning. Severino ended the contest 3-for-5 with the three home runs plus four RBIs. Keon Broxton went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored. Dwight Smith Jr. was 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, a walk, two runs and six RBIs. Hanser Alberto finished 4-for-5 with two runs. Dylan Bundy picked up the win as he gave up three earned runs on hits with four strikeouts and two walks over five innings. John Means draws the start tongiht for Baltimore as he enters with a 5-4 record, 2.80 ERA and 1.10 WHIP with 45 strikeouts over 54 2/3 innings.
Rangers' rally falls short
Texas scored six runs in the bottom of the ninth inning Tuesday night at home versus Baltimore before ultimately falling 12-11. Shin-Soo Choo helped lead the Rangers offense as he went 2-for-5 with a home run, a walk, two runs and two RBIs. Asdrubal Cabrera ended the game 3-for-5 with a double, a run and two RBIs. Delino DeShields Jr. was 2-for-5 and scored a run. Drew Smyly took the loss as he surrendered seven earned runs on eight hits over 3 1/3 innings, striking out two and walking two. Mike Minor will start tonight for Texas as he comes in with a 5-4 record, 2.74 ERA and 1.19 WHIP with 80 strikeouts over 75 2/3 innings.
MLB Betting Trends
The Orioles are 11-27 in their last 38 Wednesday games. Baltimore is 32-93 in its last 125 road games.
The Rangers are 7-2 in their last nine home games. Texas is 2-7 in its last nine games versus the AL East.
Baltimore won a crazy game last night, but should have a much tougher time tonight versus Minor. Means has been the best Orioles pitcher, but with less run support to work with than last night I don't think he keeps up here. The Rangers have been outstanding at home so far this season and I think they bounce back in this spot.
