Rays unable to rally at home

Tampa Bay lost by a count of 9-7 at home Sunday afternoon versus Minnesota to fall to 35-22 overall and 17-14 at home. Austin Meadows helped pace the Rays offense as he finished 2-for-5 with a run and two RBIs. Christian Arroyo ended the game 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs. Ji-Man Choi finished 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and two runs scored. Tampa Bay trailed 7-0 in the seventh inning before scoring five runs in that frame, but ultimately could not rally all the way back. Ryan Yarbrough took the loss as he gave up seven earned runs on 10 hits with four strikeouts and two walks over seven innings. Snell gets the start tonight for the Rays as he comes in with a 3-4 record, 3.06 ERA and 1.04 WHIP with 83 strikeouts over 61 2/3 innings.

Tigers hit three homers in loss

Detroit lost by a score of 7-4 at Atlanta Sunday afternoon to fall to 22-34 overall and 13-17 on the road. Christin Stewart helped lead the Tigers offense as he finished 3-for-5 with a solo home run. Grayson Greiner went 1-for-3 with a home run, a walk and tow RBIs. JaCoby Jones ended the game 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double. Joe Jimenez took the loss as he gave up four runs (one earned) on one hit with one strikeout and two walks over one-third of an inning. Ryan Carpenter draws the start tonight for Detroit as he enters with an 0-2 record, 7.58 ERA and 1.47 WHIP with 15 strikeouts over 19 innings.

MLB Betting Trends

Tampa Bay

The Rays are 7-1 in their last eight Tuesday games. Tampa Bay is 15-6 in the last 21 Snell starts overall.

The Tigers are 4-14 in their last 18 games overall. Detroit is 1-4 in the last five Carpenter starts.

So here we have the reigning AL Cy Young Award winner and a Tampa Bay team coming in a little salty after losing three of four at home versus Minnesota. And the Rays will be going up against a mediocre pitcher in Carpenter and a Tigers squad that is overmatched most days. I'm not taking the risk here on a dog. Go with Tampa Bay.
