Orioles hammered at home
Baltimore lost by a count of 8-1 at home Sunday afternoon against San Francisco to drop to 18-41 overall and 8-23 at home. Trey Mancini helped lead the Orioles offense as he was 1-for-4 with a solo home run in the bottom of the first inning before the Giants scored eight unanswered runs. Pedro Severino ended the game 1-for-2 plus a walk. Renato Nunez finished 1-for-3 with a double and a walk. Gabriel Ynoa took the loss as he gave up four runs (two earned) on five hits with four strikeouts and two walks over five innings. Dylan Bundy will start tonight for Baltimore as he enters with a 2-6 record, 4-58 ERA and 1.24 WHIP with 60 strikeouts over 59 innings of work.
Rangers ease to win
Texas won their third straight at home Sunday afternoon with a 5-1 victory over Kansas City. Adrian Sampson was stellar on the mound as he gave up one earned run on eight hits with 11 strikeouts and no walks over seven innings. Nomar Mazara helped pace the Rangers offense as he finished 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Danny Santana ended the contest 2-for-4 with a double and a run. Ronald Guzman was 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Drew Smyly will start tonight for the Rangers as he comes in with a 1-3 record, 6.98 ERA and 1.76 WHIP with 38 strikeouts over 37 2/3 innings.
MLB Betting Trends
The Orioles are 17-39 in their last 56 Tuesday games. Baltimore is 9-43 in its lst 52 series openers.
The Rangers are 2-6 in their last eigth games versus the AL East. Texas is 3-10 in its last 13 series openers.
Texas will turn to Smyly here and he doesn't inspire a lot of confidence, but the Rangers have been stellar at home and they are facing a terrible Baltimore squad here. While Baltimore will have the sometimes reliable Bundy on the mound, I don't trust him against a lineup ful of lefties with power. I'm taking the hosts as Smyly should be able to limit the damage against a weak offense.
