Anthony Rizzo went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI on Wednesday against the Padres. The Padres brought in tough left-handed reliever Tim Hill to face Rizzo with two outs and a couple runners on in the bottom of the fifth inning, but Rizzo was undeterred, slicing one into the gap to plate a couple runs. It was one of two doubles he had on the day, and he also singled and scored an additional run. Rizzo now has five hits in two games since returning from a week-long absence due to back issues.

Buster Posey went 0-for-3 with a strikeout on Tuesday in a blowout loss to the Angels. Posey is now just 4-for-30 over the last week, and it’s seen his average drop from .374 to .315. No one is expecting the 34-year-old to continue to hit at that level, but this is an unfortunate regression for fantasy managers. The question now is how Posey responds, as this was a below-average hitter over the past couple of seasons.
Cubs vs. Giants Betting Prediction
The Cubs have won four straight against the Giants but are just 2-6 in their last eight games in San Francisco. They’re also 3-8 in their last 11 games as a road underdog, whereas the Giants have won five of their last six games as a favorite. The Giants are also 4-0 in their last four games following an off day and are 5-0 in their last five games versus National League Central opponents.
