Odor dives home with winning run
Texas second baseman Rougned Odor scored the game-winning run in the top of the 10th inning Saturday night in Los Angeles to win 3-2. The Rangers had previously scored the tying run in the ninth on an Adrian Beltre sacrifice fly that scored Jurickson Profar. In the 10th, a single by Ronald Guzman allowed Odor to race home ahead of the tag to put Texas ahead. The Rangers only had four hits in the game, with Shin-Soo Choo and Odor each recording a hit and scoring a run. Odor had a double and scored a run. Nomar Mazara drove in the other run. Jake Diekman earned the win in relief, while Keone Kela picked up his 13th save.
Angels waste fantastic Richards start
Los Angeles starter Garrett Richards was nearly untouchable in the loss as he went the first seven innings, surrendering one unearned run on one hit with nine strikeouts and one walk. Blake Parker blew the save in the ninth inning, while Jose Alvarez took the loss in the 10th. Mike Trout was 3-for-5 with a home run and a triple to pace the offense. It was his 19th home run of the season. Ian Kinsler was 2-for-5 and hit a solo home run to account for the other score.
Doug Fister (1-5, 4.09 ERA) starts today for the Rangers, while LA turns to Tyler Skaggs (3-4, 3.60).
MLB Betting Trends
Texas
The under is 6-2 in the last eight Rangers games overall. Texas is 1-4 in Fister’s last five road starts.
Los Angeles
The Angels are 5-2 in their last five games following a loss. Los Angeles is 7-3 in its last 10 Sunday games.
Prediction:
Texas stole one last night, but I’m confident Los Angeles will bounce back today. The Angels have dropped a few games lately to subpar teams, also losing the final two games of a road series in Detroit. Expect the Angels to put it all into this one to come away with a victory.
