Indians drop opener
Cleveland dropped the series opener on Thursday night, 10-4. They have now lost seven of their last 10. The Indians are 28-28 on the season, 13-14 on the road and 32-23 with the under. Trevor Bauer gets the start for the Indians tonight. He is 4-4 on the season with a 3.99 ERA.
The Indians had just six hits in Thursday’s loss. Carlos Santana drove in two of the four runs for Cleveland. Jason Kipnis also had a pair of hits. Carlos Carrasco took the loss, as he gave up six earned runs over 6.1 innings to fall to 4-6 on the year. Dan Otero gave up four runs in 1.2 innings in relief.
Sox win fourth straight
Chicago is on a push to get to the .500 mark, as they have won four straight games following Thursday’s win. The White Sox are 27-29 on the season, 13-16 on the road and 28-27 with the under. Chicago has Dylan Covey on the mound tonight. He is 0-4 on the season with a 5.47 ERA.
The White Sox started the hitting early, putting up two runs in the second inning and never looking back. Chicago finished with 15 hits in the win. Jose Abreu hit his 15th home run and drove in three to lead the way while Yonder Alonso homered and also drove in two runs. Eloy Jimenez also had three hits with two RBI. Manny Banuelos got the win on the mound, his third of the season. He pitched 5.1 innings and allowed three runs.
MLB Betting Trends
Cleveland
The Indians are 8-3 in Bauer’s last 11 road starts, but just 3-7 in their last 10 AL Central games.
Chicago
The White Sox have won four straight home games, but they are 1-8 in Covey’s last nine home starts.
Prediction:
Bauer has given up at least four runs in five of his last six starts. His ERA has grown by two over the last month. Covey has given up at least four runs in three of his last four starts. The Sox are just 1-6 when he takes the mound. With both pitchers struggling coming into the game, I will go with the home team. Chicago has been hitting the ball well and the Indians have gone through some serious scoring lulls.
MLB Prediction: Chicago White Sox +150
