Arrieta guides Philly to win
Philadelphia rolled to a 6-1 win Tuesday night behind another strong start from Jake Arrieta. He lowered his ERA to 2.16 on the season as he threw seven shutout innings, giving up five hits while striking out six and walking two. Cesar Hernandez paced the offense as he went 2-for-2 with a double, three walks and two runs scored. Mikael Franco finished 2-for-4 with an RBI. Odubel Herrera contributed a hit and two RBIs. Jorge Alfaro was 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run and an RBI.
Muncy continues to play well
Max Muncy got the start for the Dodgers at first base and batted leadoff Tuesday night and did well in the role, going 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored. While his batting average is only .256, he is getting on base at a .364 clip which is ideal for a table setter. Justin Turner finished the game 2-for-4 with an RBI. Matt Kemp was also 2-for-4. Kenta Maeda took the loss as he threw 1 2/3 innings before leaving the game with an injury. Maeda gave up two earned runs on three hits with two strikeouts and a walk before departing.
Zach Eflin (1-1, 3.27 ERA) gets the start tonight for Philadelphia, while Ross Stripling (2-1, 1.74) will start for Los Angeles.
