Marlins’ Urena allows four runs in no-decision vs. Nationals
Jose Urena yielded four runs over six innings in a no-decision Friday against the Nationals. The damage came via the long ball, as Urena served up a two-run homer to Michael Taylor in the second inning and another two-run blast to Matt Adams in the sixth. He struck out seven and walked one in the no-decision. Urena remains stuck at 0-7 on the year to go along with a 4.69 ERA. He has a decent chance at his first win with a matchup against the Padres next week in San Diego.
Padres’ Richard allows two runs in win over Pirates
Clayton Richard gave up two runs in 7 1/3 innings and was credited with a 6-2 win over the Pirates on Saturday. He rolled through seven shutout innings before giving up two runs in the eighth. He scattered seven hits without issuing a base-on-balls and he notched two strikeouts in the gem outing. He improves to 3-5 with a 4.87 ERA and 1.39 WHIP in 10 starts.
MLB Betting Trends
Miami
The Marlins are 6-1 in their last seven games versus the Padres.
San Diego
The over is 5-2-1 in the last eight meetings between these two teams and is 5-0-1 in the last six meetings played at Petco Park.
Prediction:
The Padres are just 5-22 in Richard’s last 27 starts versus the National League East, are 1-7 in his last eight outings when their opponent scores five runs or more in its previous game, and is 2-5 in Richard’s last seven starts overall. With both teams residing in last place in their respective divisions and the Padres unsuccessful with Richard starting, this is a good spot to take the underdog.
The Pick: Miami Marlins +114
