Yankees rally, win in extras

Brett Gardner hit his seond home run of the game in the bottom of the ninth Tuesday night, a two-run shot that tied the score at 5-5 and sent the contest to extra innings. In the 10th, a Gleyber Torres game-winning single scored Miguel Andujar to send New York to a 6-5 victory. Gardner had also led off with a homer in the bottom of the first inning. He finished the game 4-for-5. Aaron Judge went 2-for-4 with a home run and a walk. Andujar was 2-for-4 with a walk and three runs. Torres was 2-for-5 with two RBIs. Aroldis Chapman earned the win in relief.

Gattis homers in defeat

Astros designated hitter Evan Gattis was 1-for-3 with a solo home run, two runs scored and a walk in the loss. Jose Altuve went 2-for-4 and scored a run. Marwin Gonzalez finished 2-for-5 with a double and drove in two. Chris Devenski blew the save in the ninth inning, while Brad Peacock suffered the loss in the 10th.

Dallas Keuchel (3-6, 3.39 ERA) will start today for Houston, while New York is going with Luis Severino (7-1, 2.28).

MLB Betting Trends

The Astros are 41-16 in their last 57 Wednesday games. Houston is 15-6 in its last 21 road games.

New York

The Yankees are 40-12 in their last 52 home games. New York is 25-8 in its last 33 games overall.

Keuchel has had some bad luck in accumulating six losses to his record this season despite pitching pretty well most of the season. Severino has been dominant since Opening Day and already has a masterful win at Houston four weeks ago. I think both starters will be on their game again tonight and keep this one under the total.
