Diamondbacks lose first two

Arizona has dropped the first two games in this series, losing 4-3 on Monday and 6-2 on Tuesday night. The Diamondbacks are 28-27 on the season, 17-14 on the road and 27-26 with the over. Arizona has Robbie Ray taking the mound today. He is 4-1 on the season with a 3.26 ERA.

The Diamondbacks couldn’t come through with the big hit on Tuesday. They had nine hits for the game, but stranded 10 baserunners. Eduardo Escobar hit his 13th home run of the season and had both RBI, giving him 42 for the season. Merrill Kelly fell to 4-6 on the season on the mound by giving up four earned runs over 6.2 innings.

Rockies win third straight

Colorado earned its third straight victory on Tuesday night and they have now won six of their last eight games. The Rockies are 26-27 on the season, 13-12 at home and 29-22 with the over. Colorado has Jeff Hoffman getting the start tonight. He is 0-1 on the season with an 8.10 ERA.

Colorado’s bullpen came through nicely on Tuesday. After Antonio Senzatela pitched six innings and allowed just two runs, the pen pitched three perfect innings. Jairo Diaz got the win with one inning of work while Chad Bettis earned a two-inning save. At the plate, Chris Iannetta had two hits and drove in two runs while Ryan McMahon also drove in a pair of runs for the Rockies.

MLB Betting Trends

The Diamondbacks are just 7-16 in their last 23 Game 3’s of a series and 3-7 in their last 10 division games.

The Rockies are 5-1 in their last six home games and 5-1 in their last six NL West games.

Ray doesn’t get deep into games, even though he has allowed two earned runs or less in his last five starts. Hoffman has just two starts and he has been rocked in both of them. Arizona hasn’t been able to get the hitting it needs in this series. While the pitching matchup isn’t great, Colorado has been able to do a great job with its bullpen against Arizona. Ray doesn’t get deep into his starts and the Diamondbacks bullpen isn’t getting the job done right now.

MLB Prediction: Colorado Rockies +120
