Trout notches five-hit game
Angels superstar center fielder Mike Trout continued his incredible hitting display this season Saturday as he finished a perfect 5-for-5 with three doubles, a home run, three runs scored and four RBIs. Zack Cozart was 2-for-5 with three runs from the leadoff spot. Jose Briceno finished 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored. Jaime Barria allowed four earned runs in five innings to pick up the win.
Yankees hit three home runs in loss
Brett Gardner and Aaron Judge each hit a home run in the first inning Saturday, while Austin Romine added a home run in the second as New York led 4-1 early before ultimately losing by a score of 11-4. Judge finished 2-for-2 with a pair of walks. Romine and Miguel Andujar both had two hits. Sonny Gray allowed five earned runs in 3 2/3 innings to get saddled with the loss.
Garrett Richards (4-3, 3.31 ERA) starts today for the Angels, while the Yankees are going with Tanaka (5-2, 4.95).
MLB Betting Trends
The Angels are 7-2 in their last nine Sunday games. Los Angeles is 17-5 in its last 22 road games.
The Yankees are 20-7 in their last 27 home games vs. the Angels. The over is 5-1-2 in the last eight meetings in New York.
The Yankees' rotation has struggled lately and the bullpen is getting taxed. Los Angeles comes in hot and Trout is as hard as ever to get out. Richards provides a solid starting pitcher for the Angels and he is downright filthy when he is on his game. I'm going to say the visitors win as an underdog for a second straight day to take the series.
