Mets’ Syndergaard strikes out seven in win over Diamondbacks
Noah Syndergaard allowed just one run and fanned seven hitters over seven innings of work in a win over the Diamondbacks on Sunday. Syndergaard scattered six hits, and he walked just one while striking out seven. Thor was efficient in this one, as he threw 70 strikes over his 102 pitches, and the only run off him came on a ground-ball out by Jeff Mathis in the second inning. The seven one-run innings lower Syndergaard’s ERA to 2.91 and his WHIP to 1.19, and he’s fanned 68 hitters in just under 59 innings. His next scheduled start comes Friday against the Brewers in Milwaukee.
Brewers’ Guerra lasts just 4 1/3 innings vs. Twins
Junior Guerra allowed a run on four hits over 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision Sunday against the Twins. Guerra only gave up four hits and issued two walks, but it was the inefficiency with which he got outs — Guerra threw 91 pitches and only 49 strikes — that precipitated his early exit. Pitching deep into games hasn’t been his strong suit — after Sunday, he’s gotten through six innings in just two of eight starts — but Guerra has been effective when on the mound, posting a 2.98 ERA on the year. Guerra will next take on the Mets on Friday.

New York
The Mets are just 1-5 in their last six games against the Brewers at Miller Park.
Milwaukee
The under has hit in four of the last five meetings between these two teams overall.
Prediction:
Even though the under has been a sound bet of late, the over has cashed in five of the last six meetings between these two teams in Milwaukee. The over is also 3-1-1 in Syndergaard’s last five road starts and is 6-2 in the Brewers’ last eight games played on Friday.
