Kwang Hyun-Kim yielded four runs (one earned) in 3 1/3 innings in a loss to the Padres on Sunday. Kim held the Padres scoreless through three innings before everything fell part in the fourth. It all started on a throwing error by Nolan Arenado, but Kim walked three in the inning, including two with the bases loaded before being pulled. Coming into the night, Kim had walked just five batters through 23 innings, so we shouldn’t hold this meltdown against him too much. The southpaw will attempt to rebound against the Cubs in the coming week.
Chicago White Sox DFS Spin
Andrew Vaughn slugged a pinch-hit, game-tying solo homer in the ninth inning on Sunday in the White Sox’ loss to the Yankees. Vaughn came off the bench to snap Aroldis Chapman’s 18-inning scoreless streak with an opposite-field shot into right-center field — his third homer of the season — in the top of the ninth inning. It was his first round-tripper since May 12. The 23-year-old slugger has struggled at the plate in his rookie campaign, but has shown some signs of immense upside recently.
Cardinals vs. White Sox Betting Prediction
The under is 6-2 in the last eight meetings between these two teams, is 13-3-1 in the Cardinals’ last 17 interleague road games versus a right-handed starter and is 19-6-1 in their last 26 interleague road games. On the other side, the under is 6-2 in the White Sox’ last eight games overall and is 4-1 in their last five games as a home favorite.
