Public Betting Information
According to oddsmakers, the Dodgers are a -166 favorite to win on the moneyline. The Rockies are a +156 underdog, while the total sits at 7.5 runs. As of Wednesday morning, 74 percent of public bets are pouring in on host Los Angeles. Check out our MLB Public Betting Page for up-to-date information.
Three-run sixth propels Dodgers
Los Angeles trailed 3-2 going to the bottom of the sixth inning Tuesday night, but proceeded to score three in that frame to take control in the 5-3 victory. Chris Taylor hit a two-run home run, while Yasiel Puig followed up with a solo homer. Taylor also walked once in the game, while Puig drew two walks. Matt Kemp finished the night 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. JT Chargois picked up the win in relief, while Kenley Jansen earned his ninth save.
Starting today for the Dodgers will be Kenta Maeda (3-3, 3.89 ERA).
Shaw falters for Rockies
Colorado reliever Bryan Shaw was coming off a poor performance in the series finale at the Giants Sunday and was not any better Tuesday night, allowed both home runs and three total hits in an inning of work to be saddled with the loss. Ian Desmond went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs, while Gerardo Parra was 2-for-4. Chris Iannetta added a double in four at-bats, while Nolan Arenado was 1-for-4 with an RBI.
Kyle Freeland (4-4, 3.14 ERA) will start today for Colorado.
MLB Betting Trends
Colorado
The under is 17-6-2 in the last 25 Rockies games overall. Colorado is 9-4 in its last 13 road games.
Los Angeles
The Dodgers are 3-7 in their last 10 Wednesday games. Los Angeles is 5-1 in its last six versus a team with a winning record.
Prediction:
Freeland is pitching with confidence this season and the Dodgers have had struggles against left-handed pitching the last few years. Maeda is prone to a very poor outing from time to time, so he’s a decent fade any time he is a big favorite. Los Angeles still doesn’t have my full trust right now and I feel the plus money is too enticing to pass up on the Rockies.
