A's hit three homers in win

Oakland picked up a 6-4 road win Monday night at Cleveland to improve to 23-25 overall and 9-15 on the road. Jurickson Profar helped pace the offense as he went 2-for-5 with a solo home run. Matt Olson was 2-for-3 with a solo home run plus a walk. Matt Chapman finished 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs. Brett Anderson picked up the win as he threw the first 5 1/3 innings before leaving with a cervical strain as he allowed one earned run on five hits with one strikeout and no walks. Chris Bassitt will start tonight for the Athletics as he enters with a 2-1 record, 1.93 WHIP and 0.92 WHIP with 38 strikeouts over 32 2/3 innings.

Carrasco takes loss in opener

Cleveland suffered a 6-4 loss Monday night in its series opener versus Oakland to drop to 25-21 overall and 14-9 at home. Francisco Lindor helped pace the offense as he finished 1-for-5 with a solo home run. Roberto Perez ended the night 1-for-3 with a solo home run plus a walk. Jose Ramirez ended the contest 2-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI. Carlos Carrasco took the loss as he surrendered three earned runs on seven hits with four strikeouts and two walks over five innings of work. Trevor Bauer will take the mound today as he comes in with a 4-2 record, 3.76 ERA and 1.16 WHIP with 75 strikeouts over 64 2/3 innings.

MLB Betting Trends

The Athletics are 43-12 in their last 55 games versus the AL Central. Oakland is 6-2 in the last eight starts by Bassitt on grass.

The Indians are 10-3 in their last 13 Tuesday games. Cleveland is 18-8 in the last 26 Bauer home starts.

Bauer was hit hard last start, giving up seven earned runs over five innings at home versus the Orioles. Bassitt has been awesome this season and he will provide a much different look than Anderson did yesterday. The A's also showed they can beat one power righty at Progressive Field, so why not do it two days in a row?
