Atlanta Braves Fantasy Spin
Ronald Acuña homered twice and doubled in the Braves’ 4-1 victory on Monday over the Giants. Acuña led off the game with a homer for the second straight game off of starter Andrew Suarez, and he added another solo shot in the seventh off of Nick Vincent. The 21-year-old now has 11 homers and 31 RBI, and his season slash improves to .291/.383/.526 in 47 games. What sophomore slump?
San Francisco Giants Fantasy Spin
Brandon Crawford went 2-for-3 with a homer on Monday in the Giants’ loss to the Braves. The Giants were only able to pick up two hits on the evening against Mike Soroka, and both of those were off the left-handed bat of Crawford. His solo homer in the sixth was the third of the season. Crawford is starting to swing the bat more effectively as of late, but his .212/.283/.308 line over 156 at-bats leaves a lot to be desired, and there should be much better options out there.
MLB Betting Trends
Atlanta
The Braves are just 12-25 in Teheran’s last 37 starts when he pitches the second game of a series.
San Francisco
The Giants are 4-13 in their last 17 home games when playing an opponent with a winning record.
Prediction:
The over is 5-2 in the Giants’ last seven games following a loss and is 10-4 in their last 14 games when facing a right-handed starter. The over is also 5-2 in the Braves’ last seven games versus a team with a losing record and is a perfect 4-0 in Lance Barrett’s last four games behind home plate in San Francisco.
