Twins drop series finale

Minnesota lost by a 7-4 score Sunday afternoon at Seattle to drop to 30-16 overall and 15-8 on the road. The Twins led 3-1 in the fifth inning before giving up three runs in that frame and another three in the seventh. Jorge Polanco paced the offense as he finished 4-for-5 with a run and an RBI. Luis Arraez went 1-for-2 with two walks and a run. Ehire Adrianza was 1-for-4 and scored a run. Kyle Gibson suffered the loss as he surrendered four earned runs on nine hits with six strikeouts and no walks over six innings. Jake Odorizzi will start tonight for Minnesota as he enters with a 6-2 record, 2.62 ERA and 1.06 WHIP with 46 strikeouts over 48 innings.

Angels unable to complete sweep

Los Angeles lost by  5-1 score at home Sunday afternoon versus Kansas City after winning the first two games in the series. Kevan Smith led the offense as he was 1-for-2 with a double, two walks and an RBI. Mike Trout ended the contest 2-for-4 with a double. Tommy La Stella also finished 2-for-4. Tyler Skaggs took the loss on the mound as he gave up four runs (three earned) on six hits with seven strikeouts and two walks over 5 2/3 innings. Taylor Cole will start today for LA as he comes in with a 0-0 record, 4.91 ERA and 1.23 WHIP with 11 strikeouts over 7 1/3 innings.

MLB Betting Trends

The Twins are 6-1 in their last seven road games. Minnesota is 36-16 in its last 52 games overall.

Los Angeles

The Angels are 4-0 in their last four series openers. Los Angeles is 13-5 in its last 18 games versus the AL Central.

Minnesota is enjoying a strong season and has played well on the road. Odorizzi is posting some of the best numbers in his career and yet is an underdog here against an inconsistent Angels squad. Take advantage of this line and although traveling west can often be a tough situation, the Twins are simply traveling south and are adjusted to the time difference. Go with Odorizzi and a Twins squad that has their sights set on a fantastic season.
