A's Manaea allows four runs in victory over Red Sox
Sean Manaea surrendered four runs -- three earned -- over six innings Monday in a win over the Red Sox. It's the first time in his career that Manaea has allowed four runs and won; he had been 0-13 in the 19 starts in which he allowed at least four runs. After going 4-2 with a 1.03 ERA in April, Manaea is 1-2 with a 5.60 ERA in May. He'll get the Blue Jays next.
Blue Jays' Gaviglio moving into Blue Jays' rotation
Sam Gaviglio will start for the Blue Jays on Saturday against the Athletics. He's taking Jaime Garcia's (shoulder) spot. Gaviglio has allowed just one run with a 6/1 K/BB ratio over 4 1/3 relief innings for the Jays. He was just recently recalled from Triple-A.
MLB Betting Trends
The A's are 2-5 in their last seven games versus the Blue Jays and have dropped 12 of their last 15 in Toronto.
The Blue Jays are 1-5 in their last six games overall, are 0-4 in their last four home games and have dropped four of their last five games against the rest of the American League West.
Manaea's profile is more of an excellent No. 2 than an ace but there's no question the guy is off to a fantastic start to the season. Despite all their firepower and despite playing at hitter-friendly Rogers Centre, the Blue Jays have been lackluster offensively of late. The A's have the better offense right now and certainly the better pitcher so why not lay the small price on them to win again in Toronto?
The Pick: Oakland A's -125
