Rockies vs. Reds Prediction
Will offense be on display tonight when the Reds host the Rockies at 7:10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Rockies are -113 money line favorites versus the Reds, who have odds of -108 to win tonight at home. With Tyler Anderson set to face Lisalverto Bonilla in the pitching matchup, the over/under is currently sitting at 8.5 runs.
Anderson (knee) allowed three earned runs, five hits and two walks over 5 2/3 innings while striking out eight batters in a loss against the Dodgers on Saturday. Anderson, who had his last started push back due to left knee inflammation, did not seem to have any ill effects of the injury. He is 1-1 with a 3.09 ERA in two May starts after posting a 1-3 record and 7.71 ERA in six outings in the month of April. Slowly but surely he is showing some better results, but he'll need at least two or three more decent outings before fantasy owners can trust him again. (From Rotoworld)
Bonilla allowed three runs in a complete game loss to the Giants on Saturday. He gave up six hits and two walks while striking out five in the eight-inning complete game. He gave up solo home runs to Brandon Belt in the first inning and Justin Ruggiano in the second. The third run came on an infield single in the seventh frame. It was his first start of the season. The complete game came at a great time considering the Reds used up their bullpen in a 17-inning game on Friday night.
OUR PREDICTION: The over has cashed in four of the last five games between these two teams. The over is also 5-0 in Anderson's last five starts after allowing two runs or less in their previous game and 5-2-1 in his last eight starts versus a team with a losing record. On the other side, the over is 4-0 in the Reds' last four games overall and 23-8-1 in their last 32 games following a loss.
FRIDAY MLB PREDICTION: ROCKIES/REDS OVER 8.5
