Orioles get hammered
The Baltimore Orioles are coming off a 14-7 loss at Cleveland on Thursday night, the day after a doubleheader loss to the Yankees. Baltimore is 14-29 on the season, 8-14 on the road and 21-20 with the over. Baltimore sends Dylan Bundy to the mound tonight. He has a 1-5 record with a 5.31 ERA.
The Orioles weren’t too bad at the plate, but their pitching staff was shelled on Thursday. Dan Straily lasted just 3.1 innings in his start, giving up four runs. All five pitchers for Baltimore gave up runs on Thursday. Trey Mancini hit his ninth home run and drove in three to lead the Orioles at the plate while Rio Ruiz also homered.
Indians win back-to-back
Cleveland is coming off back-to-back lopsided wins, beating the White Sox 9-0 on Wednesday and then beating the Orioles 14-7 on Thursday. The Indians are now 23-19 on the season, 12-7 at home and 24-17 with the under. Cleveland has Jefry Rodriguez getting the start tonight. He is 1-2 on the season with a 2.92 ERA.
Trevor Bauer wasn’t very good on the mound, giving up seven runs over five innings, but his bullpen came through. Four pitchers combined for four scoreless innings. A.J. Cole got the win in relief, his first of the year. At the plate, Jason Kipnis hit two home runs and drove in six. Carlos Santana drove in three runs on two hits.
MLB Betting Trends
Baltimore
The Orioles are 47-115 in their last 162 games following a loss and 15-47 in their last 62 road games.
Cleveland
The Indians have won seven straight against AL East opponents and 68 of their last 100 home games against a right-handed starter.
Prediction:
The Orioles are beat up and lacking in good pitching and fresh arms. Bundy has been respectable on the mound in recent weeks, but he hasn’t gotten deep into games for the most part. That should lead to some more trouble when the Indians get to the backup arms. Rodriguez has gotten through six in his last three starts and I think that will be enough to get the job done tonight. Cleveland’s hitting should get to Baltimore’s pitching and the Orioles don’t have enough in them to put up seven runs again.
MLB Prediction: Cleveland Indians -175
