Guzman, Calhoun homer in win
Texas secured a 6-1 victory Wednesday night at Kansas City to snap a five-game losing streak. The Rangers scored two runs in the top of the first inning and never trailed in the contest. Willie Calhoun went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs in his MLB season debut. Nomar Mazara was 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles. Ronald Guzman finished 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Logan Forsythe ended the night 2-for-3 with two doubles, a walk and two runs. Mike Minor picked up the win as he allowed one earned run on eight hits over five innings, striking out three and walking two. Lance Lynn draws the start today as he enters with a 4-3 record, 5.48 ERA and 1.49 WHIP with 44 strikeouts over 47 2/3 innings.

Kansas City fell by a 6-1 Wednesday night at home against Texas to drop to 15-28 overall and 10-14 at home. Nicky Lopez finished 2-for-5 with a double and a run in the defeat. Adalberto Mondesi went 3-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and two stolen bases. Kelvin Gutierrez and Martin Maldonado both ended the contest 2-for-4. Jorge Lopez suffered the loss to drop to 0-5 on the season as he gave up five earned runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts and two walks over 5 2/3 innings. MLB Betting Trends
The Rangers are 19-40 in their last 59 road games. Texas is 9-2 in its last 11 meetings in Kansas City.
The Royals are 8-17 in their last 25 Thursday games. Kansas City is 13-39 in its last 52 games versus the AL West.
This game is essentially a tossup with only the home factor giving the Royals the edge. But I've learned over the years to not trust Bailey and especially as a favorite, albeit a very small one. Lynn is very inconsistent, but has managed a couple gems this season. I'm going to give him the edge here backed by a lineup that had a little added edge to it with the addition of Calhoun last night.
