Minnesota Twins Fantasy Spin
Jason Castro belted his sixth home run of the year in the Twins’ defeat of the Angels on Wednesday. Castro went deep for a two-run shot in the bottom of the sixth inning to extend Minnesota’s lead to 8-3. They would hold on to win 8-7. The 31-year-old catcher also drew a walk Wednesday and scored two runs. He has a 1.025 OPS for the season and is going to be leaned on heavily behind the plate moving forward with Mitch Garver on the injured list because of a high ankle sprain.
Seattle Mariners Fantasy Spin
Tim Beckham homered and doubled Tuesday as the Mariners edged the A’s 4-3. Beckham did most of his damage in the season’s first 10 games — he came into tonight hitting .194/.231/.340 since April 10 — but he’ll continue to pop the ball over the fence on occasion as long as the Mariners continue to play him. At some point, they’re going to want J.P. Crawford playing regularly at shortstop next to a healthy Kyle Seager at third base.
MLB Betting Trends
Minnesota
The Twins have won four of their last five games on the road.
Seattle
The Mariners are just 4-10 in their last 14 home games.
Prediction:
The Twins have not been profitable when facing the Mariners, dropping five straight versus the M’s and five of six in Seattle. Minnesota is also 0-5 in Michael Pineda’s last five starts while the Mariners have won 15 of their last 22 games coming off a victory in their previous contest.
The Pick: Seattle Mariners +100
